Challenge
Novavax had experienced rapid scientific and organizational growth, yet its visual identity lagged behind—fragmented, inconsistent, and no longer reflective of its leadership in vaccine innovation. As the company expanded its global footprint, the absence of a unified brand system created confusion across internal teams, investor communications, and physical environments. Novavax needed an identity that could convey scientific rigor and modernity while bringing coherence to a brand that had outgrown its earlier visual expression.

Approach
We began by grounding the identity in Novavax’s core strengths: scientific excellence, breakthrough innovation, and global impact. Through a strategy-led design process, we developed a modern visual system anchored by bold, confident typography; a refined, contemporary color palette; and a purpose-built iconography program that translated complex scientific concepts into clear, accessible visuals. To ensure brand consistency across every touchpoint, we also designed a comprehensive wayfinding and environmental graphics system deployed throughout campuses and offices worldwide—creating a unified brand experience for employees, partners, and visitors alike.

Outcome
The launch of the new identity equipped Novavax with a cohesive and elevated brand platform that matched its scientific ambitions and global presence. The refreshed system strengthened internal alignment, enhanced clarity across high-stakes communications, and brought a renewed sense of pride to the physical workspace.
